Zur Vorbereitung des 209. #EDchatDE am 29.05.2018: „Was ist noch erlaubt mit #DSGVO ? Digitale Bildungsarbeit im Angesicht des Datenschutzes“
In preparation for the 209th #EDchatDE on 29.05.2018: „What else is allowed with EU- #GDPR? Digital education in the face of data protection“
Seit dem 25.05.2018 ist sie nun in Kraft, die „Datenschutz Grundverordnung“ oder kurz DSGVO. Und wir alle haben das nicht nur aus den Meldungen in den Medien mitbekommen, denn fast täglich sind wohl bei Jedem/Jeder von euch Mails mit dem ungefähren Titel „lassen Sie uns in Kontakt bleiben, stimmen Sie unseren neuen Datenschutzregeln zu“ im Postfach gelandet. Oder? Und Dienste wie WhatsApp, Twitter, etc. wollten plötzlich eine Bestätigung von uns, dass wir wirklich schon 16 Jahre alt sind. Und wer eine persönliche Website, oder ein Blog oder sonstiges Angebot im Netz betreibt, hatte bestimmt in den letzten Wochen ein paar Stunden Aufwand betrieben, um es DSGVO-konform zu machen. Viele Blogs und Seiten sind seit dem 25.05.2018 vom Netz gegangen. Unserem Blog zum Twitterchat #EDchatDE erging es ebenso, denn er ist nicht selbst gehostet und, da wir den Chat seit Jahren ehrenamtlich und kostenlos betreiben, ist es uns in der Kürze und ohne finanziellen Aufwand nicht gelungen, hier die DSGVO für euch einzuhalten. Deshalb erscheinen die Fragen nun heute hier, auf meinem privaten Blog und in Zukunft, bis wir eine Lösung gefunden haben, wohl im Wechsel auch bei den anderen EDchatDE-Teammitgliedern.
Bei der Ausgabe 209 wollen wir über die Auswirkungen der DSGVO auf die Bildungsarbeit diskutieren und auch eine Plattform bieten, um Fragen auszutauschen und sich gegenseitig zu helfen. Welche Chancen und welche Herausforderungen bietet die DSGVO für die digitale Bildungsarbeit und wo macht sie diese vielleicht gar unmöglich?
Sommerpause und #SlowEDchatDE
Wir sind auf jeden Fall noch da, auch oder gerade wegen der DSGVO. Allerdings vor unserer Sommerpause am kommenden Dienstag zum letzten Mal. Dann ziehen wir uns bis September zurück um neue Ideen und Kraft zu gewinnen. Damit der Austausch aber während der Pause nicht ins Stocken gerät, wollen wir ab 16.07. einen #SlowEDchatDE anbieten. Zu einem von uns vorgegebenen Thema werden wir jeweils Montags, Mittwochs und Freitags eine Frage mit den Hashtags #SlowEDchatDE und #EDchatDE posten. Dazu könnt ihr euch dann über die Woche austauschen. Wir sind gespannt auf dieses Experiment und freuen uns auf eure Teilgabe.

#GDPR (EU)
Since 25th May 2018 it has been in force now, the „General Data Protection Regulation“ or GDPR (EU) for short. And we have all heard this not only via reports on the media, because almost every day e-mails with a subject like „let us stay in touch, agree to our new data protection rules“ have been delivered to everybody’s inbox. Right? And services like WhatsApp, Twitter, etc. suddenly wanted confirmation from us that we really are 16 years old. And whoever runs a personal website, or a blog or any other service on the net, certainly spent a few hours in the last few weeks to make it GDPR-compliant. Many blogs and sites have been offline since 25 May 2018. Our blog for Twitterchat #EDchatDE went the same way, because it is not hosted by us and, since we have been running the chat voluntarily and for free for years, we have not managed to comply with the GDPR for you in a short time and without financial expenditure. That’s why the questions appear here today, on my private blog; we’ll continue to do so until we find a solution, probably alternately on the other EDchatDE team members‘ blogs as well. We’ll keep you updated under the #EDchatDE hashtag.
In issue 209 we want to discuss the effects of GDPR (EU) on educational work and also offer a platform for exchanging questions and helping each other. What opportunities and challenges does the GDPR offer for digital education and where, perhaps, does it even prevent it from happening?
Summer break and #SlowEDchatDE
In any case we are still here, also or just because of the GDPR (EU). However, next Tuesday will be the last time before our summer break. Then we retreat until September to gain new ideas and new strength. But in order to keep the exchange going during the break, we want to offer #SlowEDchatDE from July 16th on. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays we will post a question with the hashtags #SlowEDchatDE and #EDchatDE, with one particular topic each week, chosen by us. You can then talk about those question during the week. We are looking forward to this experiment and are curious for your contributions.
