#SlowEDchatDE #EDchatDE

The fourth week of #SlowEDchatDE is about the question: „Makerspace, FabLab, Coworking-Space: Future of (collaborative) working and learning?

Also this week I will contribute as moderator the three questions of the week and tweet Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8.00 o’clock under the hash day #SlowEDchatDE.

You can read here how SlowEDchatDE works and why it exists.

Makerspaces and FabLabs are – just like libraries – the so-called „third places“ for me. These are places where people usually learn and try things out together without being at an institutionalized place of learning. Today, libraries often already have maker spaces on offer themselves. And coworking spaces correspond entirely to the culture of the „digital nomads“ who meet and work together in such, mostly open and large „offices“. Most of the time you need a place for your laptop, good W-lan and good coffee 😉 In this respect, cafés are also suitable as coworking spaces, right? At least I observe, as a confessing Starbucks fan, that young people in particular learn and work together, make video calls, have hot drinks and something to eat and then go their separate ways again.

In any case I am curious what ideas and answers you will bring to my questions in the fourth week and what questions you still have yourself!

And what happens next?

In week five and six Torsten Larbig will moderate #SlowEDchatDE and Peter Ringeisen will finish before the regular #EDchatDE starts again in September and opens the sixth year (!) of this German Twitterchat for teachers and people interested in education.

The questions:

But now here come the questions about „Makerspace, FabLab, Coworking-Space: Future of (collaborative) working and learning? Have fun with that:

Monday, 8.00 a.m.

Q1: Makerspace, FabLab, Coworking Space: What is all this, what experiences have you had with it and what examples can you give? #SlowEDchatDE #EDchatDE

Wednesday, 8.00 a.m.

Q2: Makerspace, FabLab, Coworking Space: How do these models promote learning and working together? What framework conditions does this require? #SlowEDchatDE #EDchatDE

Friday, 8.00 a.m.

Q3: Makerspace, FabLab, Coworking Space: Do we need such learning and working spaces in schools to prepare for the future? Or is school about other approaches? #SlowEDchatDE #EDchatDE
